WordPress 3.0

It appears that WordPress 3.0 is coming out soon. Personally I am quite hyped about this release, there are a good number of features that I think will make bloging, at least on the admin side, a LOT easier but also more optemizable (if that’s a word). One of the most distinguishable would be custom menus.

Apparently, it allows you change your  theme’s menus (categories, pages,etc.) to the order you want. This is indeed a welcome change but sadly since it is such a new feature there will be many themes that won’t support this. Also on the sad part of things is that my theme on this blog isn’t supported anymore. So I guess I’ll have to do some sleuthing around as to what needs to be done to make a theme compatible with these new features. Either way, I am quite happy with this new idea.

On top of the custom menus, I hear that there will be a lot of “under the hood” work done which may improve performance and loading times, and if you have loaded my website before, you know that this is also a more that welcome improvement.

I guess I should also mention that they intend to make the admin, menus lighter in color, this is in the hopes of making your content the evident thing rather than wordpress itself.

So, cross your fingers, and ready yourself for another cup of pure wordpress awesomeness.
